For some artists, art is for art’s sake but for him art is for all, After graduating from the Faculty of Education, he volunteered as a teacher for Morgan students in Surin Island n worked for the children’s foundation til his life changed when he went to study in Wardof school in Germany. Since then he uses his art more for therapy, as an art therapist in a hospital, than as a mode of free expression.

19 พฤศจิกายน All the small thingsDear diary, Talking to ppl whom we’ve never known before can give us a good lesson to learn. We meet so many ppl ev’day. O’life..gap of life..U may meet socialites and ppl from other walks of life in the same day. Life’s like this. I’m telling u what I met yesterday. I figured out how life is unfair for somebody. The day before u dealt with socialites. They live their lifestyles of the rich n the famous. Expensive meals, luxurious cars, five-star residences etc. On the following day u met a person who’s completely different from those. O’ that’s a good lesson to learn. On Saturdays, I have to go to driving school. ..too early so I had to wait for my trainer. Just then, she..what shud I call her?? ..thirtysth..she’s responsible for registration if ppl come to take drivin courses. She started to talk to me by askin bout mobile phone becuz she’s lookin for a new one. The point is..she began to tell me bout her life. Wow, how can she trust in me? Lol. It seemes that she has been frustrated with her life. As far as I remember, this is what she said… “..I’ve worked here for 4-5 months n I can’t take this anymore. It would b damned boring if u were me. Early morning I open my eyes..I came here around 7.30 a.m to clean up the floor before 8 o’clock. On weekdays, all I have to do is sittin n waitin. Quite a few ppl come to register for a drivin course. My employees often get angry with me in the evening becuz of no students. Hell, I wanna tell them that I can’t grab their hands to register for a course. Course fees may b too high for some ppl. Economic crisis is effecting us. I stay with them in a small room. I wanna get out of here. Should I go back to my hometown in the south n start a new career there or should I go on livin in Bangkok?. Hélas, I don’t like Bangkok. My bro is livin on the outskirt of here. I wanna visit him but I’m too tired to go anywhere. I want to night out or go clubbing. I’ve been cravin for it. I’m waiting for things to change. I can’t stand underpaid salary. I want a new job, enjoy workin..more responsible..more things to do not like this shit…As time ticks by, I’m still waitin ev’day..i don’t even know what I’m waitin for..hours after hours til the end of the day..” I don’t know what to say. I just sat still n listened to her. She made me realize that life is so different. Life may b ‘b’tiful’ for u but for somebody..he/she is tryin to ‘beautify’ it. Dear diary,
“Another turning point a fork stuck in the road”…Yesterday, I had a job interview with the magazine director. The day before, my cousin told me that he’s hard to deal with. He knows becuz a friend of his gf knows the director. So..I didn’t want to hope..I got up in the morning n did my routine. 2pm sharp..that’s appointment. I spent time having sth to drink n snack. Then, I wandered in a bookstore for a while. I went there on time. I met P’Pom. She’s very nice. She said she had wanted me to get the job since the first time that I met her. I felt excited. She suggested me that I should tell him I would get a position in Louis Vuitton soon. Then, it’s the time to see the director. I pretended that I’m alright but deep inside I was breeding..hehe..The director introduced himself n told me bout his magazine. He read my documents that I had sent…n asked me y I preferred poetry to music. I think that’s the question that marked the result..head or tail..I said I preferred poetry becuz poetry can bring imagination to me…can lead my mind to wander…He asked me about my interests..he said art, interior design, architecture r related but he wondered y I’m also interested in human right..It’s different lol..Am I confusing ppl?..I said I just hate when things go unfair…There was a question..the question that tattooed in my memory..y I got D+ in French oral class? Hell..I had monologue.. “it’s becuz Julie who is Not jolie” so she considered me as a dog. The interview took 20 minutes I think..After that he said he had considered me to get the job..i think u have many intereting things..Let them spotlight on u..I don’t know how to say..I told myself..u got it, girl..ur turning point!..then, P’Pom introduced me to other ppl in each department..on the way, she said it’s good that I dare walk towards my expected thing not wait for the thing to happen itself..see that from my portfolio..fashion event participation…O’ I almost cried..she told me about the job..The director wants me to try writing a fashion column. I sometimes have to come to meet ppl if they want. It can pave ways to my career in the future..By the way, Chanel advertised a job position in newspapers – Boutique supervisor…Mayb, fashion marketing management knowledge would meet their needs….that’s a good choice for the career in field of fashion. I may apply for this position in the future after studying fashion management with good experience. A lesson that’s worth learning for today is ..as P’Pom said “It’s good if u dare walk towards ur expected things without waiting for the thing to happen itself” When I feel happy or so blue, I sing this song in my mind..before the interview, I felt better when I sang it Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)

Today, I’d like to present a fashion topic about ‘fad’ together with its examples. Check out ur wardrobe, how many fads do u have? Mine, well.. I counted..my striped t-shirts n my spaghetti straps..and how about urs? Shopping in a center of fashion at affordable prices, do u think most of the stuffs r fashion or fads? “Fad”, this terminology may b doubtful. Well, let’s see what it is The definition of ‘fad’ is well explained in a fashion theory book. Becuz it’s easy to understand, I extracted some details to share. Here is what it says. [..] A fad is a fashion that suddenly sweeps into popularity, affecting a limited part of the total population, and then quickly disappears is called a fad. It comes into existence by the introduction of some feature or detail, usually exaggerated, that excites the interest of the customer. The fad starts by being quickly accepted n then quickly imitated by others. Fads often begin in lower-price ranges, r relatively easy to copy, n therefore flood the market in a very short time. Becuz of this kind of market saturation, the public tries fads quickly n they end abruptly. Fads follow the same cycle as fashions do, but their rise in popularity is much faster, their much more rapid than that of a true fashion. Becuz most fads come n go in a single season, they have been called “miniature fashion.” In recent decades we have had the “punk,” multi-colored hair fad of the pop-stars. Fads, like fashions, invade every field: sports, literature, religion, politics, n education. However, many things that begin as fads become fashions n can carry over for several seasons. In fat, it is very difficult to draw the line between fads n fashions. The chemise, or sack dress, is probably the outstanding examples of this phenomenon. After an instant rise to popularity in late 1950s, it quickly passed from the season scene. A few years later, the chemise reappeared as the shift. In 1974, the chemise again appeared in the Paris collections, modified to eliminate its former disadvantages. American manufacturers quickly reproduced it in several versions n in a wide price range. That the chemise, in its various manifestations, again appeared in the late 1980s n the mid 1990s is strong evidence that it, too, will become a fashion classic. [..]
The Fads & their statements
❶ AFRO HAIRCUT (1960-1970) Jesse Jackson, Reggie Jackson, Michael Jackson. Besides being large media icons in the 1970's, they also were noted for the fashion statement they wore everyday .... the afro. Some wore it simply as a fashion statement while others wore it as part of a statement of their political stance on world issues. As a part of the Black consciousness movement, the hairstyle symbolized a shift away from the "conservative" peace movement of the civil rights era to the more aggressive, militant expression of Black power.

➋ BELLBOTTOMS (1960) Derived from the style of Naval uniforms, bellbottoms became the fashion statement of the bohemian sector of young society in the late 1960's. They also became a prominent symbol of the wildly stylish 1970's. Bellbottoms were initially designed for Naval personnel. They were designed to flare out at the bottom so that sailors could quickly remove their boots in an emergency situation. The pants became popular as musicians like James Brown, Sonny and Cher and Elvis Presley enjoyed their bell like form. When hippies saw the bell-shaped pants leg, they seemed like a counter-culture alternative to th straight-legged, straight-laced adult-oriented clothing worn by their parents. Made of denim, the popularity of the pants was enormous, however, they were unavailable in many parts of the country where they were seen as too much of a fashion statement. Some enterprising youths decided to create their own bellbottoms by splitting their jeans along the seams and sewing in a triangular panel. ➌ IRONING HAIR (1960) In an attempt to revolt against the complexity of the such styles as the bouffant hairdo, Northeastern girls began ironing their hair in an attempt to make it as straight and natural as possible. In order to get this look, young girls would simply lie their head on an ironing board while a trusted friend would iron the hair in one inch sections, the process taking up to an hour. The girls had to be careful, however, not to iron the hair for too long of a period of time as that could leave burn marks in the hair or could make the hair too dry or brittle. The fad diminished in the early seventies as other styles became the vogue.
--JOHN LENNON's glasses-- ➍ GRANNY GLASSES (1960) Contrary to the name, granny glasses were a sign of vibrant, energetic youth. Granny Glasses, or Ben Franklin glasses, were first seen in California around 1965. A few months later, they were on such famous faces as John Lennon and The Byrds. Created by Roger McGuinn, these glasses were both fit for sunglasses and prescription glasses and the small half-frames were a staple for the Mod fashion dress. Granny glasses could be accompanied by "granny skirts" - baggy, ankle length skirts. As with most fashion trends, the craze came to a quick end in 1967.
➎ MINISKIRT (1960) Much like the afro was to Black males, the miniskirt was for women, a tool of rebellion. Wearing a hemline at mid-thigh, these women sneered at the social rules put in place by the "wholesome" members of society and decided they would dress as they liked. The height of the miniskirts popularity was around 1967, when it was practically the only type of skirt being sold to young women. At this time, when many young people were "letting it all hang out," women had grown tired of having to act proper and demure and sought to have the world appreciate them on their terms. The miniskirt is believed to have originated in either England or France and may have been the most popular fad of all for women. Just when it started to be fully accepted by most of society, the miniskirt craze began diminishing until wearing one had become a novelty. ✦✧✩✧✧✦✧✧✦✧✦✧ Talking about its definition, it seems to me that “fad” sounds negative. Taking an example, a website about ‘fad’ below is called “badfads”. Some fads remind us of fashion in the past like in 1960s when so many fads were originated. If so, “fads” are fashion’s archives. What I wonder is “fad” really carries negative meaning or in other word, fad is always bad? Mayb, I will have to find an answer in fashion school.

His way of life is weird so I had to stop by to read the column about this guy. By the way, his surname..rang about!!..I guess he’s a sibling of my art teacher. His opinions..mmm too deep to understand but it’s interesting This is what he thinks… “..Biology widens and deepens my view of life. I’ve learned that we human beings are just a fraction of the lives that surround us. We may not know that within each of our pores, there exists a forest teeming with life, or how many species of insects live on our skin. If we don’t pay attention to the things that cannot be seen with the naked eyes, then we’re missing an opportunity to learn how the little things and the big things in this world connect and relate to each other..” he said

✘✘HELLO HELLO HELLO HOW LOW✘✘ We all can sing along this phrase. The heritage that Kurt Cobain gave to all grungers or so called X generation in his heydays. Now, I’d like to turn up the volume of “Hello Hello How low” to make it ‘how loud’ again. Well, talking about Nirvana, we can’t forget the word “GRUNGE”. Yea, it’s grunge..I’m talkin about grungy thingie today starting from my stories <=^_^=> I mayn’t b a huge fan of Nirvana but I have some of their albums. They r awesome..sounds, screams, lyrics give me the clues how the band’s attitude is..that’s grung culture. Long time ago, I read an article written in THEI ROCK magazine. It’s presented Nirvana n Grunge Music. Frankly, I found that Nirvana originated in Seattle might b considered as the only one grunge band in music history. My wonder was followed by huh?? How come??..let’s count..thousands of rock bands..countless of pop n other sorts kept marching in music industry..but..for grunge, there’s only one?. Then, I got the overview of Nirvana n Grunge music thanks to the article. Later, I saw pics of Kurt’s daughter, Francis Bean Cobain (sorry for misspelling). Two years ago, she gave an interview to TEEN VOGUE magazine. I still remember that I copied her hairstyle seen as nice n easy to do. I adopted it in my early days of fashion interest (hélas not now lol). The other pics from their heydays looked good..Cool Kurt, gorgeous Courtney Love tgth with her but the messages from this young girl sounded frustrating..Recently, I’ve checked out autumn-winter trends on fashion websites n it’s nice to know that grunge look also lifts up spirits of the seasons though it’s not mainstream trends n I don’t think that fashionistas will addict it. The grunge fashion was left to know but hélas I didn’t search for further details. In the end, the story of grungy thingie happened to me again. Few days ago, I had a cold, stayed in bed n picked up Nirvana’s Cd to listen ..O’ is it my remedy? Yeah, “u know u’r right” This is how my stories go..to make it stop hauntin me, today, I sought some aspects bout grunge…Let’s see ✪✪Grunge Fashion: First of all, I don’t hesitate to talk bout grunge fashion hehe…Marc Jacobs’ collection caught my eyes at the first glance. After reading fashion critics, I found that the look called Grunge. All of sudden, the echo of hello how low sprung in my head lol. I personally like this look. Perhaps, I may adapt n then adopt it as my own style..see that the clothes can b teamed with my wardrobe. Smell of grunge spirit is lit up on the runway above..well, check out the compilation of grunge look. ( ughhh..Mmmm..)..I have a cold…While I was drowsy in my bed, my mobile rang..She..Mayb the face I can’t forget lol..She called me to ask if I have time to teach children in October. I had to say no though I didn’t want to. Yesterday, I called them to say that I couldn’t teach anymore n I would go to study abroad. I lied. I couldn’t tell them frankly that I would work with LV soon…The point is I realized sth after I had talked to her on the phone.
She says “Hi Cherry, this is me. I come to ask if u can teach our students during this short break. Is it possible? I like ur teaching method while nobody else can do” I say “I’m really sorry for that. I’ll go to study abroad soon. I have to prepare for that. I’m sorry”
A feeling came up in my mind after she had said “it’s ok”. Then, I couldn’t stay in bed…thought that I should record this moment.. “for what is worth, it’s worth all the while”. This story is about my memories, the years that I had been working as a tutor or mmm.. a teacher or whatever u call..should I consider myself as a teacher? Mmm..I have no idea.
For over…lemme count ..ya 4 years. I have English n French to children since I was sophomore. I have had 1..2..3…19 students..I gave them private classes. I had to juggle my time to study, to teach n to hang out or do sth else. Now, it’s about the time..Should I be happy that my future career will b there for me? Workin with LV will b a good step that welcomes me to my future career that I’ve been planning.
I told their parents that I had got a new job. They said congratulatory words n then it’s followed by the same question… “u can’t teach our kid anymore? Can u spare ur time for us?” I said that I had been so sorry for that..
I’d like to say sth..I’m not flattering myself. I tried to teach well so that my students would b better..I want them to understand lessons well n do best for exams. The result is..they always tell me that “I’m the top of the class, this time..thank you for that. I say “Nope, it’s not becuz of me..u urself can make it happen..I didn’t sit beside u when u did the exam..u see?” I want to continue weaving this thread..to teach a kid well..I’ve learnt that teachin someone may b not hard to do but how to teach well is questionable..one can b a teacher but he/she may not b good to do that. There is a kid..he’s in grade 9..The first time that he learned with me, he couldn’t read anything..not even an easy word. As time goes by, he’s getting better n better. It’s easier for him to understand a grammar lesson..u see, one can develop oneself n nobody is stupid..he/she just doesn’t know it..but once he/she knows, he/she could do it. That’s my philosophy of teaching. Somebody thinks that to teach a kid is to step backwards..do sth else to step forwards..i don’t mind teaching but I have sth more important to do..i have to fulfill it..Perhaps, when I get old, I might own a kindergarten..who knows…… I might play this role again..“Hey kids!!, here I come, let’s figure out this question..n do the rest by urself..don’t whine!!”

McDonald’s tackles prickly issue of hedgehog-friendly ice-cream US fast-food giant McDonald’s has announced it is now hedgehog-friendly, following a long-running campaign waged by British lovers of the prickly mammals. McDonald’s says it has redesigned cups and lids of its McFlurry ice cream so that they are no longer a danger to the animals <=^_^=> The British Hedgehog Preservation society (BHPS) has spent more than five years campaigning against the containers, claiming that countless creatures had died by getting their heads stuck inside when trying to eat leftover ice cream. McDonald’s UK said it has invested “significant research and testing” into designing their new cup, which features a smaller opening, meaning customers have to remove the lid to eat the dessert. In a statement the firm said: “we are delighted to announce that we have now introduced a new lid with a smaller aperture for our McFlurry dessert” “The smaller aperture of the lid has been designed to prevent hedgehogs from entering the McFlurry container in the unfortunate incident that a lid is littered and is then accessible to wildlife” Relieved BHPS chief executive Fay Vass said life would now be a lot easier for foraging hedgehogs with a taste for ice cream. <=^_^=> McDonald’s “always said they were listening but nothing seemed to happen”, she said. “Then we got press coverage and public support followed and they tried a different design” “We were getting quite a few calls, enough to concern us, so now it’s one less danger for hedgehogs to worry about”
- A piece of news from THE NATION – I’d like to share this news that I found on the daily newspaper. It sounds weird when MCdo has to change its container design for animal protection. I support..I’m a big fan of Mcdo n It’s nice to hear that the big Junk food like Mcdo doesn’t take benefits from society
Taking a look around, we see that Animal Protection is currently a global issue. Obviously, big cosmetic brands like CLINIQUE n BODY SHOP support this campaign. “Anti Animal Testing” is labeled on product containers <=^_^=> COSMETICS CAMPAIGN : The aim of the cosmetics campaign is to end animal testing of cosmetic products and ingredients and the sale of any animal tested cosmetics. This is based on the ethical standpoint that the production of new cosmetics should not cause animal suffering. Other case is…we often see hottie J-LO with super furry coats..n also her brand “Sweetface” ..it’s also furry..all of the activists fightin for animal protection have been writing to her but hélas it seems useless….. as far as I know, there’s an animal organization in Canada ( I forgot the name) which is a key role of animal protection..they hire superstars, rockers etc to b presenters of the Anti-Fur campaign often seen in many many leading magazines n advertisements… Anti-Fur campaign: The main aim of the anti-fur campaign is to end the use of animals for fur. This is based on the ethical standpoint that it is unnecessary to cause animal suffering by breeding and trapping animals for fur while many alternatives are available that do not cause cruelty and the taking of animal lives.
